The SP is in the same state as the library, but using the SP at least provides the \
necessary insulation to facilitate replacing it. So the answer is "use Shibboleth" or \
"use something else". There is no code you should be using, you should use an \
existing solution.

That is one option, yes, when it fits the need.

No. There will never be any documentation for that code, it will be EOL by the time \
any resources would ever be applied to documenting it.
