Hi all.

I'm *trying* to set up a HP 5L printer on my INDY running 6.5.

Apart from licecning issues (which, I'm trying to resolve with
SGI) I cannot attach anything (ie:set up any kind of printer) to
my parallel port.

When setting up a printer, it fail to write to /dev/plp

I looked at this with ls -l and found that it is a link to
/hw/parallel/plp

/hw exists but /hw/parallel does not.

I have tried cd /dev; ioconfig -f /hw as per man plp, but still
nothing.
hinv shows that the port is there.
Would it fail if the cable was shot? (I don't think it is, but
you never know)

I am using print manager to set this up, but have also tried
/usr/sbin/mkcentpr

BTW. Has anybody in the UK got a copy of 6.2? That they would be
willing to sell/copy me? I have a lowly INDY, that struggles with
6.5.

Many thanks for the time taken to read this.
