Location:       Anywhere in the World, California, United States

***The company is headquarted in Redwood City CA but you may work anywhere in the \
world from a home office.  With that said, if you were to work remotely you would \
need to be very senior and able to work independently.

The client:  a venture-backed IPS start-up working to protect against zero-day \
attacks, is looking for a Windows Reverse Engineer.

This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of new product development and \
to work on a tightly knit and extremely talented engineering team.


We are looking looking for a senior software engineer with experience in reverse \
engineering Windows/Unix applications to find and categorize vulnerabilities in \
existing applications as well as discovering mechanisms to modify those applications. \
Duties will include detailed software vulnerability research, correspondence with \
software vendors, researchers, and other stakeholders, specification and development \
of tools and processes to better understand existing applications, how they are \
patched, how to identify changes in those applications, etc. The candidate will be \
expected to be a technical leader, both internally and externally. 


JOB REQUIREMENTS

Requirements:
BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Management or \
equivalent, plus experience as a system or network administrator, software developer, \
database administrator or similarly technical occupation. We will consider other \
educational backgrounds of a technical nature with experience as described (e.g. \
substantial experience in publishing the details of vulnerabilities).  Experience \
with or substantial knowledge of  •	Internet security issues 
•	software testing 
•	software engineering 
•	common forms of malicious code 
•	common development methodologies 
•	common software failures (e.g. buffer overflows) 
•	software development and programming in multiple languages 
•	system, database, and network administration 
•	basic cryptographic theory and practice 
Must have the following abilities and skills: 
•	software testing and evaluation 
•	originality and creativity 
•	outstanding written and oral communication skills
