JOB DESCRIPTION

Position:	Technical Writer
Location:	Redwood City, California, US
Type:		Permanent F/T
Closing Date:	01/26/2005

The Marketing Writer is responsible for taking a leadership role in communications \
projects for the marketing department. Projects include developing, writing, and \
editing a variety of print marketing collateral including data sheets, flyers, white \
papers, product brochures, and inserts  working closely with Check Point’s \
Design team to ensure the consistency of our brand, tone, and message.  In addition, \
this person will provide support for writing projects driven by other departments \
such as Finance, HR, and Operations.

The following key functions are part of the job duties:
- Research topics as necessary.
- Author marketing and sales communications, including sell sheets, brochures, white \
                papers, letters, etc.
- Author website text copy.
- Follow chosen Company Style Guidelines (design, style, branding) and ensure a \
                consistent message throughout all documentation.
- Know your audience and products.


JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Experience & Skills Requirements:
- Minimum five (5) years experience in collateral writing for a technical company 
- A passion for superior copywriting 
- Experience in creating a range of industry-related collateral
- Experience in working with outside vendors
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to initiate and follow-through
- Strong project management skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Willingness to use all resources available to become expert in our products and \
                services
- Self-motivation and the ability to work independently
- Windows platform experience.

Education Requirements:
- Bachelor of Arts in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Technical \
Writing, or related field.
