Information Security Advisor (Team Lead) - Washington DC metro area

Generalized Experience:
Information Security professional who works independently and has a broad base of \
knowledge regarding Information Security operations policies, process, tools, \
services and architectures within both the government and commercial sectors. \
                Responsibilities include: 
- Evaluating the customer environment for security exposures and providing written \
                assessments of risks within the environment
- Supporting nationwide deployment, management, and analysis of IDS
- Providing an interface to Managed Security Services and other organizations within \
                IBM
- Providing a information security focal for the customer on a variety of operational \
                security issues
- Researching the latest industry security practices and technologies as well as \
                emerging threats and vulnerabilities
- Advising account management team on information security issues and trends
- Providing a focal point for the account’s Security Incident Management process
- Providing security project management
- Ensuring all IBM personnel on account adhere to IBM security policies and processes

Specialized Experience:
At least 5 years of hands-on Information Security experience, to include the \
                following:
- Intrusion Detection configuration, implementation, maintenance, and analysis; Cisco \
                Secure IDS experience preferred
- Firewall Management, rule creation and security evaluation; Cisco PIX and \
                Sidewinder G2 firewall experience preferred
- Performing operating system hardening, vulnerability assessments, and technical \
                security compliance evaluation
- Incident Response and forensics
- Strong networking experiences including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF; Cisco CCNP certification \
                a plus
- Experience working with US Federal government information security policies and \
regulations highly desired

Experience and Education:
Minimum of five years performing Information Security activities within a large \
enterprise environment.  B.A. or B.S. degree required.  Must be a US Citizen and be \
willing to undergo a US Government background check.  CISSP Preferred (Required w/in \
1yr of starting position)

Job Location: 
Washington DC (or willing to self relocate)
