Security Engineer-IDS

Security Engineer - IDS
Department: Operations
Location: Chantilly, VA

Job Functions
- Work within Counterpane's Managed Device Operations group to assist in
continued development of the service to exceed client expectations
- Effectively work with internal operations group to tune client's
environment, and to provide ongoing feedback to evolve both Sentry and
Socrates infrastructure
- Work with vendors to acquire ongoing information on evolution of supported
products, resolve advanced product issues, and work on customization for
unique client requirements
- Spend a minimum of 10% of work hours in lab and training evolving talent,
evaluating products, and identify vendor and security vulnerabilities.

Primary Qualifications 
- 3 to 5 years of operational and/or engineering experience with direct
security relevance. Security background viewed as a plus.
- Experience with NFR IDS (n-code experience), Cisco IDS suite required. Up
to date formalized certifications a plus.
- Experience with complex element management systems a plus
- Experience as a leader in a team environment
- Ability to work well under pressure, meeting multiple deadlines
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical staff as well as less
technical colleagues
