Randy

A lot of what you are looking for can be found in the SecurityFocus Basics
section, the articles are generally written in simple English for the layman
eg

> We've been recently tasked with developing end user training that is
> specific to password management (how to create good passwords, etc.)
http://www.securityfocus.com/frames/?focus=basics&content=/focus/basics/arti
cles/passcrack.html
<snip> .....Education is the key to effective password use. A system
administrator must instill the importance of effective passwords in the
minds of the system's users. How can he or she accomplish this? Enter the
password cracker............Systems administrators can use password crackers
to test the strength of user's passwords. The system administrator can then
notify users whose passwords are insecure............</snip> there are a few
bits about how to choose an effective password (disclaimer mostly written
by me)

Or http://www.securityfocus.com/focus/basics/articles/sechabits1.html
Developing Good Security Habits which is a nice overview of the subject area

> virus protection (what's a virus, things to be cautious of, etc.), and
email
> (acceptable use, guidelines, etc.).
http://www.securityfocus.com/focus/basics/articles/malintro.html
<snip......What is a Virus? ........Types of Viruses............How Can a
Virus, Worm or Trojan Infect Your System?...........<snip> The article is
nicely written in infantry English, Part2 then develops the subject
http://www.securityfocus.com/focus/basics/articles/malintro2.html
<snip.......ways in which you can help prevent a virus 'attack'. This is not
another 'how-to use an anti-virus program' article; rather, it is intended
to be a base reference for you to develop a safe computing policy for your
business......etc......</snip>

Hope this helps Randy

Take Care
