Thanks John - I have cracked it...I needed to mention the 10dot address of
the VNC Server explicitly rather than rely on iptables to route the packet
through the DNAT module etc.

The working command looks like...

ssh -C -2 -L 5900:10.x.x.x:5900 username@somehost.on.the.net

Then open VNC4 and connect to Server: localhost and voila - we're cookin'
with gas!
