Its great to end the year by publishing two more security-related
BluePrint OnLine articles. I would like to take this opportunity to
thank all the readers out there who have made the security articles the
most popular BPOL articles on a month to month basis. Seeing those hit
rates has not only encouraged the writers but also helped convince our
management that Sun customers care about security. Thanks!

I'm very pleased to announce the publication of:

Sun Cluster 3.0 12/01 Security: with Apache and iPlanet Web
  and Messaging Agents
by Alex Noordergraaf, Mark Hashimoto, and Richard Lau

This article documents the supported and hardened configurations of
Sun Cluster 3.0 12/01 when running either the Apache or iPlanet web
servers or iPlanet Messaging Server. The configuration may be
implemented either with JASS or manually. JASS version 0.3.3 (released
in parallel with the publication of this article) includes the
necessary drivers. Please refer to the Sun Cluster 3.0 12/01 Release
Notes for verification that these configurations are supported.

In addition - BluePrints OnLine also published:

  Developing a Security Policy
by Joel Weise and Charles R. Martin

While describes how a security policy is the essential basis on
which an effective and comprehensive security program can be
developed. This article provides a general guideline for the
development of a security policy. Available at:

Hope everyone has a great holiday and New Year.

-Alex
