And for the record, ASDF has found that the diverging interpretations of
logical pathnames make them extremely risky to use in ASDF, to the point
that ASDF now has a configuration structure that makes logical pathnames
unnecessary.

ASDF *tries* to deal with logical pathnames, but often comes up short,
because they really don't have clear semantics.
