Big things missing:

 - saving results
 - comparing results
 - fancy output

The idea is to make the benchmarking framework a contrib, and add a
bench/ subdirectory to the tree for various micro-and-macro
benchmarks. CL-BENCH doesn't really cut it for our needs.

Obviously not much work has been done on this yet.
