Interesting Roger, thank you.

I spent so many years in VM, OS/VS1, MVS, Assembler, flat files, VSAM, Cobol, JCL. I \
loved it. I was one with the machine. There was nothing I couldn't handle that came \
my way, in that era. I still think in COBOL. I miss it. I love SAS too. Although in \
my case I'm still working on my skills in SAS as a second language. I'm such a \
dinosaur, I know, but once a coder always a coder, forever...

Has anyone played around with the Hercules MVS emulator for Linux, Windows and more? \

Hi Q

Would be honored to attend the Boston Users Group Meeting.

In the glory days of IBM, 60s-early 80s, IBM had more patents than any
other company?

I was lucky to work in hardware and software future system performance.
Across the isle from me at Myers Corners Poughkeepsie, was Roger Huff, who
I believe implemented the first virtual machine?.
The first virtual machine was formulated at IBM Yorktown?
The SAS editor is based on ISPF, which wsas developed at Myers Corners
Road.
The first large scale multi-processoer Time Sharing System (TSO).
Amazing hardware monitors that could actually time live
instruction execution (sampling)
 SQL
 FORTRAN
 COBOL
 ...

There are alot of stories around the decisions and team interactions
concerning decisions on compilers.
