I discussed this with a very senior employee of SAS Institute (USA) at SEUGI
in Prague (3 weeks ago) as well as with an employee of SAS Europe. It seems
that SAS USA will be releasing various SAS version 7 products as they are
available (Fall 1998). SAS Europe however have a different strategy and will
wait until most (perhaps all) products are available at version 7 "level"
and will then release it generally.

Of course, no matter where you are you will find that SAS Institute are
always willing to give you beta copies of software or make particular V7
products available if you have a business requirement/need. The difference
in general release dates betwen Europe and the USA are simply due to
different approaches to marketing & support.

This is all my opinion of course, based on my discussions with some SAS
Institute personnel.

and there are still FREE places available)
