This is the preferred method.

>util_execute SET LOG AUTO OVERWRITE ON

You should be aware that you loose committed data with disabling redo log,
because the restart _after a crash_ can only use the data of the last savepoint.
Savepoints are triggered about every 10 minutes.
This should only be used to increase performance during data loads.

>util_execute SET LOG WRITER OFF
