No. But those RDBMS has the same Roots:
SapdDB 6.1. := Adabas 6.1.
Since then Adabas D derived from SapDB Base, as I recognized that.

IMHO Anchestor and successor, without current compatibility.

Our support treaties were quitted two years ago, without solving out standing
support calls. SAG refuses to tolve those troubles. So we switched over all our Apps
(written in eSQL/C) easyly to SapDB.
SAG refused to renew support treaties and refused to fix the problems. They offered to
buy new ... (as.....)

SapDB is better.

Yes. But there were a little issue with the connect string/ sql exec immideate ...
searche the list archive or ask me in private eMail.
Daniel helped here very fast and very effective. (Better than ever a supporter SAG/Adabas D staff
people helped).
!!
!! At this place Thank you all again for the great support done by the SapDB-Labs people. !!

The syntax for stored procedures are little different, xpl (Adabas D) <> SapDB syntax,
SapDB is more like C, but not very well documented for now. It's often topic here.
You may have a little startup worries using the "dbmcli" and "repmcli" for doing
things, you did before in "xcontrol", "xquery".... and you find xdbload like you are
used to have it. ;->>

Simply works better. We are really satisfied with SapDB.

You will have nearly none problems. Just use it. Be happy.
Btw: using a Linux Network, (Server+NFS) you should disable NFS-File-Locking
(nolock) for shares, you want to use "cpc".

I wrote a little Install and startup assistance for site for beginneres in install and
development under Linux. See: http://sapdb.automatix.de

A little hint, for SapDB/Linux exists a QT3 driver plugin. You find it also on my site.
We stopped any development for Windows and do not work for windows customers.
But if anyone wants to write those tutorials for the windows-way of life a place on our
site is guaranteed.

Good Luck
