Hi everyone,

as you may or may not have noticed, the only German-language forum on
the Ruby programming language, <http://forum.ruby-portal.de>, closes due
to lack of someone willing to do the administration[1]. However, I as
one of the moderators of this forum (in consent with the other
moderators) am proud to announce that the forum is replaced by an
official ruby-de mailinglist that is hosted on ruby-lang.org[2], just
like Ruby-Talk is! Thus, if you are a member of the German Ruby forum,
you are encouraged to subscribe to the new ruby-de@ruby-lang.org
mailinglist, either by using the web interface[3], or by emailing (in
plaintext, please) to ruby-de-request@ruby-lang.org with subject and
body set to "subscribe".

Of course, if you are not a member of the forum, but still are
interested in participating in a German-speaking mailinglist on Ruby,
you are welcomed as well.
