Well, that's precisely what I did on mine to install rvm atop Ubuntu's
ruby+rubygems, and it put rvm-install in /usr/bin... on Ubuntu 9.10 at
least.

That's all I use the Ubuntu packaged ruby for - installing rvm so I
can mess around with different ruby versions :)
