Thanks, the following now seems to work.

$cvsroot_in, $cvsuser, $modulepath_in, *$cvsfiles = *ARGV

$cvsroot = $cvsroot_in.dup
$modulepath = $modulepath_in.dup

$cvsroot.tr_s!('/', '/')
$modulepath.tr_s!('/', '/')
