I tried giving the font with space like DejaVuSans Bold in double quotes and it \
worked .

I assume you read http://oss.oetiker.ch/rrdtool/doc/rrdgraph.en.html#IMiscellaneous \
(or the same as manpage). Try a font without a space in it. If that works, try \
something like
--font 'TITLE:13:DejaVuSans Bold'
i.e. pass the font specifier as one arg.
