Yep. Nor is it very clear at this point what hash NIST is gonna choose  
or whether tomorrow brings rain ;-)

MD6 slowness is less interesting for packaging than other hashes.
But the slowness is not an implementation defect in MD6. Other
faster hashes typically already have some identified flaws, or are
tuned  with fewer rounds to increase speed with increased chances
of collisions.
