i could need large files, too :
amanda is a nice backup program to work via the network.
the whole data to be storred is transfered to the backup server,
and writen when everything got there.
everything is spooled in one file per partition...
full backups of large disks (we have 4 gb and 9 gb partitions)
won't work (ok, they work, but are __slow__).
