Not encouraging you do switch desktops (I use redhat as well and think it's
great) but if all you want to do is try KDE 3.1 without maybe butchering your
system, the KDE promo team has released a Knoppix Demo featuring KDE 3.1

This is a CD-Boot disk, so you burn the ISO, stick this in your CD Drive, boot
from it and go nuts. It doensn't touch your HD unless you explicitely specify it to.
