As I said in my release note of Libg++-2.7.2.1, you have to use
libc 5.4.4 or above with it.

LinuxThreads is best supported in libc 6, aka glibc 2, and
XFree86 3.3. There is even a glibc binary for XFree86 3.3.
I have been running glibc 2 on my machine for a while now.
I recompile things when I get time.
