Hi Neil,

Do you have an off-line backup copy of the database created prior to deleting the \
profile? If yes, unload the copy using IRRDBU00. The DBU output will show you the \
contents of the profile.

BTW, now would be a great opportunity to recreate the profile as ** instead of an *. \
With *, RLIST PROGRAM * will display all PROGRAM profiles, the last one being the * \
profile. With **, RLIST PROGRAM ** will display only the ** profile.

Regards, Bob

Subject: Recovering CLASS(PROGRAM) *

Greetings,

Question for everyone, I created myself a "learning opportunity" today
on one of our Engineering LPARs. I was adding a dsn member to
"CLASS(PROGRAM) *", realized it was the wrong one, went to remove it and
deleted the "CLASS(PROGRAM) *". Is there a way to recover this from the
RACF backup DB so I can put it back in? Some co-workers and myself have
been looking but not able to find a way.

In the end, I may just re-created it based upon another Engineering LPAR
then just add more things as we find them.

Lesson for today, I should have captured the output of "RL PROGRAM *
AUTH ALL" before I started my work.
