Well.... folks,

At long -long- last I am soon (after this week) to pull "the plug" (aka
the ripcord on the PARACHUTE)....
I had a sort of FALSE start (towards that anticipated retirement) late
last fall / early winter.
But NOW that time IS quickly approaching.
Circumstances (-much- better retirement health care funding) dictated that
I stay through this month end ---> 03/31/2014. An extra 90 days
more here.

A total of just over 15 years at IBM. With 26 years of experience when
I got here.

I started in the USMC Computer Science School late March of 1973.... so I
can honestly say that I've been doing SOME aspect of mainframe work or
support (S/360 operations then assembler pgmr to MVS sysprog, then IBM
RACF lvl2) for just a bit over 41 years. -Quite- enough... Of
that 41 over 30 were affiliated with RACF. First as a customer, then an
IBM level 2 diagnostician. What a trip!

It's been fun. It's been real. It's been.............well it's just
been... hahaha

This forum provided a sort of a stress relief for me. At least at
first.. But, over the past 6-8 (or more) years I cut way WAY back on my
frivolous posts. Why? Because, I used the sheer number of posts I did
each month / year as one metric in my performance appraisal and surely did
not want any silly FLUFF in that. I can be accused of being -many-
things. But being outright disingenuous is just NOT one of them.
But... calling things as I SEE them -has- been my trade mark.... even
beyond and before my IBM RACF level 2 years. Added color to my (and
other's) day. haha

I doubt that I will participate much here after my retirement.. We'll
see.. I will see / talk to a few facebook friends..

Lastly, my very best wishes and also my kindest regards to ALL the folks
and especially my friends here on this forum. Happy bug hunting and
answer seeking.
