The SSL certificate check for stat.ethz.ch fails. Given that it is actually valid \
(see below), the problem is on your end. Possible causes are

a) intermittent issue - try again or try another mirror

b) too old macOS with expired root certificates - see \
https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-sig-mac/2021-November/014228.html

c) bad proxy - remove the proxy or contact the proxy administrator

d) someone is messing with your network - worry
