You can always get the latest R version from http://r.research.att.com

Also if you are impatient you can grab
http://r.research.att.com/bin/macosx/R-2.12.0.pkg 
which is the nightly build of the release. In most cases that becomes the release \
unless there is a last-minute issue.

The CRAN will likely have the official release within a day or so.
