Do you have a reference for that? I don't think that's true.

I can run Qubes OS without problems with UEFI on other hardware, and there is even \
UEFI troubleshooting guidance at https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/uefi-troubleshooting/ - \
which doesn't mention lack of support for EFI...
