I'm not a developer, but I recently got a T450s and upgraded it myself
to 20 GB RAM. (It comes with a 4 GB SO-DIMM soldered on and one
user-replaceable slot that supports up to a 16 GB DDR3L SO-DIMM.)

So far, it's been the perfect Qubes laptop (for me) in every way
except one: I haven't been able to get AEM to work. See this thread
