Currently, for copy/cut/paste, we have to serialize the nodes ourselves. This
works well but it has some limitations. For example, if we want to paste into
VPL some data with text/html as mimetype we can't. We know only to decode our
custom data.
I'm wondering if we can dump a string from a node subtree and build a node
subtree from XML text with kdom?

Nikolas, It's great knews you started to port khtml. Leo, do you know how much
your editing tree will be affected by this? I'm thinking that if Quanta is
going to be ported to kdom two things can happen:
1. We could drop the two trees hell.
2. We could make use of Leo's editing stuff and use its API design to extend
features.
That could bring inimaginable benefits for VPL! I'm very interested on
starting to work in this direction and rewrite VPL stuff in a clean and
object oriented way.

Nikolas, some Gecko based editing tools have custom content drawn in the
canvas and I think that's inevitable for a web tool, expecially with XSLT. Do
you know how their engine is designed in order to do that? I also saw an
extension for Mozilla/Firefox called "Web Developer" that could show the
selectors and properties associated for each element. I think these are two
examples of important things that perhaps we should think ASAP.
