I tried Quanta Gold some years ago, but it seems, at this time it was also not under active development, just like Kdewebdev 3.5. I can suggest: http://www.activestate.com/komodo-edit This is no KDE program but you can use it on a KDE 4 Desktop. Requirements: (see http://www.activestate.com/komodo-ide/requirements) * glibc 2.4 (or higher) and libjpeg.so.62 (or higher) * libstdc++6 (or higher) * GTK+ 2.10 (or higher) This is, what in my opinion, comes next to Quanta Plus, if you install some additional plugins. I use it frequently and the usage is not so different to Quanta Plus. But I still use Quanta Plus, and my way to do this is... a customized Ubuntu CD. I created it with the UCK (Ubuntu Customization Kit) especially to run Quanta Plus on a compressed Live-CD on VirtualBox. I wrote a little script. So, /home, /var/www, and /var/lib/mysql are automatically mounted on 3 Partitions if a prepared disk-Image (VDI) is available, everytime when the system starts. This is nearly, like you would work on a normal system. On the Live-CD is apache2 with ruby, php, libgd and perl. It is possible to run i.e. wordpress. Spelling does not work. But I have added extra Toolbars to Quanta. There you find an action, that uses Aspell instead. I never tested the CVS Plugin and the Project Upload function of Quanta Plus, but I hope that works. This CD-image is a good demonstration how pretty this arrangement works. It is no difficult thing to remaster this image and add/remove things or build your own one. You can send a mail to info@isar-extra.net and I will give you access to my online-drive. There you find the ISO-Image and the related VirtualBox Disk Image. _______________________________________________ Quanta mailing list Quanta@mail.kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/quanta
