You're of course welcome to hack on Quanta. Please use the developer list for support. According to Andras the new parser is in place and much more capable. KDevelop continues to advance. Andras says getting a KDE4 replacement for Quanta is several months of coding away. That's why this trip is important. Andras and I need to focus on the ground work for this to happen. The objective is to sponsor a new developer while Andras and I continue to manage and do some code. This means the window for setting a release is towards the end of the year. If all goes according to plan with my business in January I will have made a lot of money and business will be slower after the holidays. I should have several account managers and a production manager. This means I can look at my first real vacation in 20 years... followed up by private hacking trips with fellow developers. By this time next year I hope to have several more people working on the project, paid and volunteer. Due to being outside the official KDE releases we will finally be able to take on substantial feature improvements once again. Additionally the new webcore code makes VPL more accessible than ever. The new Kommander will also make for incredibly powerful user extention, more so than ever before. Of course KDevelop integration will mean enhanced support for other languages and features. I'm personally excited about the next version, more so than I have been about the releative creative stagnation of the present version due to release constraints over the past two years. -- Eric Laffoon Project Lead - kdewebdev module _______________________________________________ Quanta mailing list Quanta@mail.kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/quanta
