One more question here: please explain what do you have under those 
paths (like where are your sources, where is the apache root dir, 
etc.).

It looks like xdebug will not stop on breakpoints if you pass them 
a "translated" path. For example if you have an index.php 
under /home/user/test/index.php, you set locabasedir to /home/user/test 
and serverbasedir to /var/www/test . In this case setting a breakpoint 
to index.php tries to set it to 
/var/www/test/index.php

not to 
/home/user/test/index.php

If you think about it, that is logical, after all you want to debug your 
scripts on the server, but for some reason this will not work. :(
