Looking at KDESVN application it has the same= =20 dialog, exactly, bar the title of the window, so modification would be an=20 upstream thing (kdelibs?), probably. Also KDE is moving to the 4 series, a= nd=20 I don't think there will be much more development in the current series=20 (3.5.x), and I believe string (text) updates are pretty much locked? I will explain briefly, because your other email messages indicate you are = new=20 to KDE. KDEs libraries provide kio slaves which allow you to access remote network= =20 locations (and other media) just like local files. The applications really= =20 know no difference between working with a local file and a remote file (loc= al=20 files are technically refered to as FILE:/path/to/file and remote files by= =20 their protocol - others are handy such as media:/ which lets you access loc= al=20 media such as cdrom and USB memory drives). You can check this in Konqueror, or any other standard KDE application (Kat= e,=20 Kword, or Quanta), by typing the full reference=20 (ftp:/user@server/path/to/file) Other protocols for web development that are handy are FISH and SFTP and FT= PS=20 which are much more secure then plain FTP. SFTP and FISH work over ssh (and= =20 only require SSH shell access), and FTPS is FTP with SSL, so they are all=20 secure by default, and are preferred if you can use them. If you want to look into it further the wikipedia might be a good place to= =20 start: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KIO Hope this is of some help.... =2D-=20 Andrew Lowe System Administrator & Programmer Information Technology Manildra Group Email: andrew.lowe@manildra.com.au Phone: 02 4423 8270 Mobile: 04 1323 8270 =46ax: 02 4421 7760=20 --nextPart56605307.AmES7iToUW Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD4DBQBG08c1f1W5yYgwg7URAjMfAJ9WiXyYciLJUCkFTQsx0s1upca2+ACY7OVW Yin6MtQ4MDT4chfviLnyew== =7Cuw -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --nextPart56605307.AmES7iToUW-- --===============0705172570== Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline _______________________________________________ Quanta mailing list Quanta@mail.kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/quanta --===============0705172570==--
