I know with ies4linux install I can run from the command line:
ie6 http://kdewebdev.org/
and it works fine, however Quanta's view in BROWSER script wants to pass a
KURL - so for local files you end up with: file:///home/alowe/test.html
Trying to trim the file:// off does not help, as IE wants to
translate /home/alowe/test.html to http://home/alowe/test.html - even if you
just type this into the url bar, it does it.
With some edting of the scripts involved you could probably load remote URLs
such has http://localhost/test.html, etc, but you are not going to get it
working for local files (unless that local file is under a local wine drive
mapping (such as c:) with some fancy bash translation). I did have a quick
play to get it going, but I have given up - esp. considering that Quanta will
pass any type of KURL (fish://, ftp://, etc) that you would have to error
nicely on - then again, these probably do not work with firefox or opera?.
I very rarely use this feature - I just have the page loaded in a browser and
reload - but then I mostly do php application development - so need apache
and php running, and am testing functions - such as button pushing, rather
then layout - let those graphic artists handle that....
If anyone can think of an action to handle ies4linux - they could post it to
the list - and perhaps post to Hot New Stuff... :-)
