I believe this is a problem with the Kate part - text editor. I have seen
references to PHP not indenting correctly with C-style indentation and the
Kate team indicate that PHP is not a C-style language and needs it's own
indentation definition written. I believe there is already a bug report in,
so you may want to vote for it... I cannot find it because "php" is too short
a search word (min. 4 characters) - a bug of it's own :-)
