Hi everybody

I am just learning to use Quanta, so please excuse if I ask stupid questions
on the last day of the year...

Problem a):
When opening Javascript-files "name.js" in the editor there's a warning about
"binary files".

The file opens correct, but I don't like the message :-) (and I don't know yet
what would happen if I change and save the file)

Trying to solve the problem, I added "*.js" to file-patters of javascript in
kde control center/components/file assignements/text (and also added a new
entry there for "x-php" as I've read in the FAQ's). It didn't change the
behavior of Quanta.

(What happened was, that when opening some programs I had a message telling me
that Mime-Type "octet-stream" was missing. After googling I solved this with
adding "octet-stream" to "components/file assignements/applications" in the
control center...)

Problem b):
Executing of Javascripts in the preview doesn't work: When clicking on a
Javascript link there's a message:

"Beim Laden von javascript:show('20','425','300') ist folgender Fehler
aufgetreten:
Prozess Aufruf des Ein-/Ausgabemoduls nicht möglich.
 klauncher meldet: Unbekanntes Protokoll "javascript".
  kann nicht gestartet werden."

(translation: While loading javascript... the following error occured: process
call of the in/output module not possible. klauncher says: unknown protocoll
"javascript". kann not be startet.)

I just don't know how I can make the protocoll known to klauncher.
Must say, the script works when I open the page in Konqueror or Mozilla.

It's a XHTML 1.0 Strict- html-file (tested by w3c to be ok), containing the
following link to a javascript (... where details are not interesting):

<a href="javascript:show('20','425','300')"><img src="...." width="..."
height="..." alt="..." title="..." /></a>

The function "show" is located in a external .js-file which is linked within
the head of this html-file:

<script type="text/javascript" src="js/... .js"></script>

Any ideas what I should do? Thanks for help!
----------------------------
I'd like to take this occasion to thank the kde-developers for their great
work and to wish a good, succesful and peaceful new year to everybody

Daniel
