Yes. Use the project menu. However it's not clear what you want to do. The 
remote protocols life FTP, fish and SMB are for uploading. Technically a 
local project would use the file protocol but you could also make your 
projects remote. Instead of thinking about protocols maybe it might help to 
think first about the physical and procedural characteristics you want. In 
KDE protocols do not dictate programs, but merely plug in interchangably, 
leaving you free to think about other things and to morph your project as 
your needs and preferences change.
