I have been working on web pages and sites at the personal, professional and government level since 1995. I remember the days of vi as the only editor for Linux and notepad for Windows. Most recently, I had been using FrontPage 2000 (FP2k) as a developmental tool (spending most of my time in the html tab). The features that I used most in FP2k were the "file include" and table tools. With the includes, I could mimic the SSI features of old, but since the files were included prior to posting (apache web server), I didn't have to worry about any SSI vulnerabilities. I have always found tables easier to implement with tools. Over the past several months, I have been migrating from a Windows environment to Linux. That transition is now complete. All except for deciding on a web developmental tool. That is where I think Quanta comes in. Although I have looked at Bluefish and Nvu, for some reason, I feel more comfortable with Quanta. With that initial comfort in mind, I've decided to choose Quanta as my platform.
