I have no idea if GNOME has a setting for this, but in KDE's Control 
Center you can change the fonts. Unfortunately I cannot tell you what 
*rc file you have to modify (most probably 
~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals), so it's better if you:
- install kdebase
- make the changes to the fonts
- uninstall kdebase (if you don't want it anymore to tweak colors/fonts)

And of course you can complain in the KDE *and* GNOME database about the 
missing possibility to use the same font settings made in both DE. ;-) 
In this case maybe the GNOME's configuration tool should be upgraded so 
it can modify KDE's settings. Or at freedesktop.org an agreement should 
be reached about a common way to store font/color settings. Yet due to 
the different approach of storing configuration for applications this 
will not be so easy to achieve.
