My machine is an AMD XP3000+ with 1,024 mb of ram, and I experienced the 
same thing. CPU is at 99% in Gkrellm until I close out the file.

Thank you Dennis for checking this out on Quanta 3.4.0, saves me from 
upgrading my system.
