Unfortunately, I didn't. I ran the two commands one after the other and Quanta 
still does not show anything. kdebugdialog still shows all of the kio_ 
compontents are selected. What can I try next?

I downloaded the entire KDE 3.4 from one of the mirror on the KDE.org site. I 
think it was from the Uni Erlangen (not that it really matters, I guess).
