I use drbd for several years now and use it for "hot standby", means I
can takeover the datadisk on a second node in case of a server crash.
But be warned - DRBD does NOT protect you from corruption of the logical
FS structure. Besides, to get atomicity on the logical layer, you need
to use "protocol A", which locks the write until the remote node has
confirmed the write - this can be a real performance killer if you have
a loaded network connection between the hosts.
