Thinking about it a bit more, I suspect that qmail tries to start, fails for some \
reason, and the defunct multilog process is a result, not a cause, of the problem.  \
Check the logs.  Try executing the qmail startup command (from the daemontools \
configuration file) at a command prompt, and check for errors printed to that shell.
