Hi,
The first thing that comes to my mind is a specially crafted archive  
or some other attachment that causes clamd to take up your whole  
cpu.  I suggest checking your logs to find the message getting  
processed that takes 100% cpu, you will probably be able to see what  
is special about the message or attachment.
