Qmail users:

Here is the answer to a problem with (my) fastforward (/qmail
configuration) that caused (for eons!) a message bound for an aliased
address to loop and bounce.

When a message came to AliasedUser@my_domain.com fastforward rewrote the
address to

AliasedUser@my_host_name.my_domain.com

Since my_host_name.my_domain.com was NOT listed in qmail/control/locals -
the message was handed off for remote delivery. This caused the loop - as
I guess the 'remotely delivered' message just went around some sort of
qmail queue.

I seem to have correct my problem by adding my_host_name.my_domain.com to
the locals file, however its not clear that this is actually the 'correct'
solution. I'm not sure why fastforward is adding the hostname to email
address. I assume it gets it from file qmail/control/me and/or defaulthost.
