The most common cause is weird ownership/permissions on the maildir or
its parent dirs.

If your maildir is empty, the quickest fix is to remove the maildir and
"maildirmake" it again.  If that still doesn't work, check the ownership
& permissions of the parent subdirs, all the way up to "/" if necessary.

The former.  A Google search for "Temporary_error_on_maildir_delivery"
went straight to month-old threads on this very issue.

Have you looked in /command/svscanboot?  (Hint: You're not running the
same version of daemontools now that you were years ago.  You definitely
want to RTFM again.)
