Check the Link that Harrisou sent in the previous email.

You can apply (maybe without wanting) blending modes to layers, features,
and even map composer items. So check the settings and make sure that for
blending mode you always have "Normal" selected. Only one layer or map
composer item with a not-normal blending mode will force you to export as
raster.

Yes, I can see my question was not very clear. I do not want a raster
PDF. Composer has automatically set that option to Print as Raster because
of "Advanced composition effects" (from the error message), and mentions
"blended modes" or "vector layer transparency" being enabled.

I found and removed a transparency set on one component, but that did not
change the situation. I may have 'blended modes' set, but I do not know
what they are, so I can not look for them. And, the problem may be some
other 'advanced composition effect'?

So, my question is: What must I do to get my map to not export as a Raster?

Thanks for your response,

Stephen

Its in *Export Settings* under *Composition*.
Hope it helps,

It seemed to be dealing with my coordinate issues.

But now, when I create my map in Composer, when I go to Save, as a PDF,
I am informed that I have to save as a raster. The notice mentions
'blended modes' and 'vector layer transparency'. I did have a \
transparency set for one layer, which I eliminated, and I do not know what \
'blended modes' might mean, unless it means the 'blended CRS' I have \

The raster PDF does not meet my needs.
