Thank you,
Just before I posted a reply I thought I would download a fresh version of the \
exercise data.
I can see the issue - when un-zipping there was a question 'Do you want to copy this \
folder without encryption?' And I think the first time I selected skip! This time I \
chose Yes and obviously this has opened the missing files and folders.
Why are there encrypted files?
So problem solved and thank you everyone for your help. I can continue!

<pre wrap="">I am a new user and trying to teach myself about QGIS using the \
2.8 Training Manual and the training_manual_exercise_data downloaded from QGIS.
But even with the very first exercise the shp file it ask you to load have different \

The next stage is to load landuse.sqlite, which does not appear to exist in the \
exercise data at all.
So I am wondering if there is a different set of exercise data that is the one I \
should be using.
Would welcome some advice as a new user.
Thank you
Martin
Ps hope I am doing this right!
