My theoretical objection to this is that it may be possible for a single process to \
have both Python 1.5 and Python 2.0 embedded - eg, a Web server.

The issue is "does the extension I just loaded reference Python15.dll", rather than \
simply "is python15.dll used by anyone in this process"

Like I said, mainly theoretical, but there is no reason I can think of why this would \
not work today for people, so we can only assume it is!

Thank you, Mark.  I made enough crisis-mode work for myself by championing other \
last-second changes that I can't afford to argue with you now even if I wanted to \
<wink>.

But I don't want to, so Postponing was the right thing all around.
